Operation Wildhorn
At 17h32 GMT on Saturday 15 April 1944
Dakota FD919 of 267 Squadron took off from Brindisi
bound for a beetroot field in the village of Matczyn, near Lublin in Poland,
on a mission codenamed Operation Wildhorn,
also known as ‘Bridge’ or ‘Most’ in Polish.
